Another quick and meaningless update

Well, I'm scheduled to leave for India on 23 January 2007. My mother and I are flying out of Chicago on a direct flight to New Delhi. She's staying for 4 weeks, and we're doing a quick tour of Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur before we head up to Darjeeling to set up my new home. I'll be posting much more frequently once I get there, so start checking back in mid-February for (semi) regular updates.

Yet another late update

Well, I'm back. Not really back posting, but I feel like I should say something.

I GOT MY RESEARCH APPROVAL

Its true...after a year and a half of back and forth, not knowing if I'd ever get to do my research, it happened. So I'm back at school to finish up my qualifying papers, write my proposal to defend, and learn everything I can between now and December. I'm planning on heading to Darjeeling around the 20th of January. The good news is that my mother is coming with me for the first 4 weeks or so. I never knew, but one of her childhood dreams was to visit the Taj Mahal. So guess where we're going first....

Not much more to report as yet. I will be posting much more regularly once I've defended my dissertation proposal and actually have time.
